The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Roland Riekena can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Navy Days

Ron and I meant in the navy aboard the Navy Destroyer, USS Waldron DD699. Our job space was Mt 52. We shared  lot of good memories and Ron was liked by everyone.

He was a good friend on board ship and after we atteded a Waldron reunion in Seattle, Washington, Ron and I contnued to stay in contact. Then we had a few visits with Ron and Carol , since their daughter  and her family live here in Oregon as we live here too. It was nice to meet them also. Truely a great family.

We will truely miss him, and wish Carol and the family all the best.

Sincerely,

Jerry and Jan Halvorson

Dallas, Oregon
