The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mary Duffy can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Drinks for life ........

My grandmother, Millie Duffy, had a major influence on me as I was growing up in Iowa. She and my grandpa, Pat, really had a major role in my view of things. Anyway, they were very humble about their exploits during the Second World War, although they did provide a visceral example of how to adapt and overcome in the worst of circumstances. They had a very adventurous life, but they really became heroes when they raised six daughters while Pat worked at Sears and Millie worked as a nurse. Anyway, Pat "departed garrison" in 1990. Millie died yesterday, at the triumphant age of 96 years. I will drink a Schlitz this evening in their honor, although Millie always preferred Jim Beam and Sprite on the rocks.
