Obituary for Glen H Siefker

Glen H  Siefker
Glen H. Siefker, 77 of Dubuque, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 5 p.m., Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home & Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Rd. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m., until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Private Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Key West.

Glen was born August 24, 1936 in Dubuque, the son of Henry and Mabel (Germain) Siefker. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1955. Glen served in the Army National Guard and was Honorable Discharge. He spent much time working at his father's gas station and racing stock cars. Glen moved west living with his brother Ken (Bert) to attend General Motors school while working at a Wyoming Chevrolet Dealership. He returned to Dubuque and met his beautiful wife Edna (Bremer) and have celebrated 53 wonderful years. Glen began working at John Deere works in 1965, retiring in 1992 as a Supervisor in the experimental division. He earned numerous degrees, certification and recognitions related to mechanical and hydraulics, and earned an industrial management diploma from Lincoln Extension Institute. Glen was highly educated and looked up to for his automotive and mechanical expertise. He was a member of the American Legion, loved warm sunny days, spending time with family, pets , fishing, hunting and cars. He was a buddy to his pets; Beaner, Desi, and Rocko.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Edna; children, Susan Siefker, Lori Siefker, and Steve (Sherry) Siefker; grandchildren, Tiffany, Alisha, Cody, Alana, and Kyle Siefker; great grandchildren, Celesity, Dallas, and Alexis; a brother, Dale Siefker; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ken, John (Jack), and Violet Palen.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Glen's memory.
