The picture  included with his obituar was taken on what turned out to be his last birthday, when he turned 80. He insisted on keeping the hat on and could not wait to get the picture over with so that he could eat birthday cake with ice cream, two of his favorite treats. We got to know each other maybe too well, Tom, but it was both fun and an honor to have you close by. Thanks for putting up with me/ us!  Liz
