Obituary for Thomas Lightcap

Thomas  Lightcap
Thomas E. Lightcap, 80, formerly of 301 E 22nd street, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Luther Manor.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 26 at the Church of the Resurrection. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m., Sunday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road, where a wake service will begin at 3:30 p.m.
Thomas was born on October 2, 1936 in Dubuque, the son of Albert Wallace (Wally) and Eunice (Strelesky) Lightcap.
He graduated from Loras Academy in 1955.
He married Mary Catherine Huss in 1959 in Janesville, Wisconsin.
Thomas was employed at Frommelt Industries, which later became Rite Hite from 1968-1996.
He had a love for sweets, especially Mary's cookies and ice cream. He enjoyed watching old westerns on tv, doing word finds and spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughters.
Surviving are his children, Mike Lightcap of Aloha, OR, and Mark (Liz) Lightcap, of Dubuque; 7 grandchildren, Joshua (Tiffany Weipert), Jayson (Tara) and Kyle Wagner, Erik (April Kluthe), Scott, Amy (Nate Irish) and Audrey Lightcap; two great- granddaughters, Elle and Lucy; son-in-law, Dean Muenzenberger, of Black River Falls, WI; and brothers, Bill (Veva) Lightcap, of California, Ted (Pat) Lightcap, of Dubuque, Greg (Linda) Lightcap, Jack Lightcap, and Joel (Linda Robinson) Lightcap, of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine in 2015; daughter, Debbie (Wagner) Muenzenberger in 2017, and brother, Gary, in infancy.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque.
