Carroll L  Tolzmann
Carroll L. Tolzmann, 78, of Dubuque, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Unity Point Health-Finley Hospital, Dubuque. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1755 Delhi Ave. Dubuque. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 pm Sunday at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy road, Dubuque and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Carroll was born October 18, 1938 in Buckeye, Iowa, son of V.E. and Fern (Eason) Tolzmann. After graduating from Iowa Fall High School, he served in the US Army, serving in Germany for 2 ½ years. He received his BA in accounting from Westmar College and his master’s degree in Science and Administration from Notre Dame.
Carroll married Rose Janke on August 27, 1967.
He worked in hospital administration, most recently at Finley Hospital. After leaving Finley, Carroll started his own business, FSI Iowa, Inc.
Carroll loved the outdoors, especially fishing and gardening. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Rose Tolzmann of Dubuque; two daughers, Lisa (Ed) Borchert of Dubuque and their children, Erik, Kayla and Ryan; and Amy Anthony of Dubuque and her daughter, Jenna. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Krise of Council Bluffs, Iowa and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Tolzmann.
A Carroll Tolzmann Memorial Fund has been established.
