She was born on September 4, 1935, in Portland Oregon, the only child of William and Harriett (Hefferon) Gleeson. She grew up in East Dubuque, Illinois and attended The Academy of the Visitation in Dubuque, Iowa. She married the love of her life, James J. (Jim) Rupp on December 2, 1961, in Dubuque. Pat enjoyed reading and good conversation. She was a talented artist including oil and china painting and was an avid writer.
Pat was known to be an elegant, classy lady and a true friend. She was willing to share her beautiful smile and outgoing personality with everyone she met. She loved to spend time with her friends and family, and especially the “lunch bunch sisters” and her significant other of six years, Charlie Kutsch.
Surviving are three daughters, Missy (Greg) Tuthill and Marni (Joe) Schmit, both of Dubuque, and Tassie (Joe) Carter, of Sherrill, Iowa, and son Terry Rupp of Independence, Missouri. Her grandchildren added much joy to her life. They are Jennifer (Erik) Johnson, Trevor, Taylor and Jordan Tuthill, Maddie and Austin Schmit, Joshua, Noah and Aliyah Carter, Angel (Andrew) Halverson, Arin and Adam Rupp, and great-grandchildren Dakota, Landon, Ronin, and Meelo.
