Clement F  Polfer
Clement “Clem” F. Polfer, 100, died Monday, July 25, 2016 at Luther Manor.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, East Dubuque. Friends may call from 10-10:30 a.m., Saturday at the Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road, is in charge of the arrangements.

Clem was born on August 29, 1915 in Center Grove, Iowa the son of Aloys and Theresa (Heacock) Polfer. He married Angeline Siegert on June 22, 1937. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2010.

Clem and his wife, Angie, opened the Hi-Acre Dairy in 1937. In 1960 they established the Milk House on University, and later on Windsor and West Locust Street. Clem was proud of the flower beds he maintained at Luther Manor. He loved his accordion, harmonica, and keyboard. Clem was an avid fisherman and spent over 20 summers fishing in Canada. He was always ready and willing to help others. He treasured his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandson.

He will be remembered by his daughter, Janet (Dennis) Gansemer of East Dubuque, Ill; three grandchildren, Theresa (Tom) Holderread of Lebanon, OH, Melissa Gansemer of East Dubuque, Ill, and Jim (Yumiko) Gansemer of Hayward, CA; five great grandchildren, Ashley (Ben Pierson) and Heather (Chris) Ewry, Elliott (Michaela Marty) Gansemer, and Tyson and Colin Williamson, and one great-great grandson, Jayden.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.
