Obituary for Gloria Mae Lieb (Urban)
Gloria Mae Jean “Pat” Lieb, 87, of Dubuque passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016.
A visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 18 at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road, where a service will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Pat was born on October 20, 1928 in Dubuque, the daughter of Clarence and Pearl (Fuller) Urban.
She married David Glen Lieb on November 30, 1946 in Sea Side, Oregon. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2016.
Pat was a wonderful homemaker. She as was an excellent cook and skilled artist. She enjoyed flowers, sewing and crocheting.
Pat spent most of her life volunteering for many organizations. Most notably, she volunteered at the Tri State Blind Society for 14 years and as president of the Legal Aid Services of Dubuque for 30 years.
Pat was an extremely kind and generous person. She cared for everyone she met and will be missed by many.
Surviving are her children, Susan (John) Schmitz of Zwingle, IA., David (Sandra) Lieb, Joe (Lynn) Lieb, Mike (Janet) Lieb, Guy (Gladen) Lieb, all of Dubuque, Troy (Gina) Lieb, of Freeport, Ill., and Tracey (Jon) Ruosch of Milton, Wis.;21 Grandchildren; 15 Great- grandchildren; and sisters, Judy Lyons, of Rockford, Ill., Dixie Bennett and Joyce (Al) Weidenbacher, of Dubuque.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Cynthia Trine and Cheryl Lieb, in infancy; four brothers; and six sisters.
