Obituary for Jude Dietsch (Dietsch)

Sr. Jude Dietsch, 95, OSF, of Dubuque, died Friday, February 26, 2016 at Clare House. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1 in the Mount St. Francis Chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 29, with a funeral vigil at 7:00 p.m. in the Mount St. Francis Chapel.

Sister was born on July 3, 1921, in Waterloo, IA. daughter of Serafin and Anna (Sieffert) Dietsch. She entered the Sisters of St. Francis on August 25, 1939 and made her final profession of vows on August 12, 1948. She ministered in Iowa in Dubuque, Remsen, New Hampton, Keota, Pocahontas, Bancroft, and Sioux City, and in Melrose Park, IL.

Sister is survived by her sister Leona Witt; nieces and nephews; and her Franciscan sisters with whom she shared 76 years of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Irene (Cletus) Thome, Ruth (Joe) Trey, Lucille (Harry) Frost, Thelma Dietsch; brothers Robert (Cleo) Diestsch, Leonard (Kathryn) Dietsch, Roy, Floyd, George, and Al Dietsch; and her brother in law Roland Witt.

Memorials may be given to the Sisters of St. Francis, Dubuque, Iowa.
