Jeanne A. Weeber, 84, of Dubuque passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 after her second courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 22 at St. Lukes United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road.
Jeanne was born on January 7, 1931 in Dubuque, the daughter of William and Annette (Spofford) Schaefer.
She was first married to David Gronen and was blessed with many wonderful years of marriage. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2002. Later, Jeanne was then married to Fred Weeber and they to also shared many happy years together.
Jeanne was the family photographer. She was picture happy and always had her camera by her side.
Earlier in life, she was an avid water skier and league bowler. She loved all classic movies, her favorite being John Wayne. She also enjoyed traveling with her family.
Jeanne worked at various jobs throughout her life, but her most enjoyable and important job was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Jeanne found extreme joy in the little things in life and was an incredibly gracious person.
Surviving are her children, Lynn (Mark) Donald, of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Clay Gronen and Scott (Laura) Gronen of Dubuque; grandchildren, Tara, Megan, Whitney, Nick, Jordan, James, David, Emily, Audrey, Chadd and Madison; great- grandchildren, Bailey, Regan, Shelby, Savannah, John, Landon, Leo, Paige, Evan, Owen, Jace, Chance, Alexandrea and Caiden; her sister, Lori Grice of Santa Cruz. CA., and Sister-in-law, Audrey Schaefer, of East Dubuque, Ill.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; beloved daughter, Stacy Junk; granddaughter, Bridget Fitzgerald; daughter-in-law, Penny Gronen; and siblings, Arline Harms, Rosie Millard, William Schaefer, and Maize Meyer.
