Ronald J. Pfiffner, 71, of Asbury, Iowa died Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at UnityPoint Health- Finley Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 10 at the Church of the Resurrection. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion, Post 6. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m., Sunday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road where a wake service will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Ronald was born on January 28, 1943 in Dubuque, IA the son of John and Clara (Fenley) Pfiffner.
Ronald grew up in Dubuque and was raised by his aunt and uncle, Louis "Lou"and Elizabeth "Liz" Spahn.
On April 24, 1965 he married Barbara Blosch at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Ronald was employed in the Experimental Department at John Deere Dubuque Works, retiring in 1996.
Ronald was an avid hunter and enjoyed competitive shooting and being outdoors.
He was a longtime member of Resurrection Church.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara; children, David (Kim) Pfiffner, of Adel, IA., Jonathan Pfiffner of Oxford, MI., Ann-Marie (Dave) Johnson, of Colorado Springs, CO., and Matt Pfiffner of Dubuque; 5 grandchildren, Josh, Samantha, Jacob and Nathan Pfiffner and Zachary Johnson; a sister, Cheryl Magner, of Milwaukee, WI., and step-sister Rhonda Kruckenberg, of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and aunt and uncle, Lou and Liz Spahn.
