Obituary for Barbara E Berens (Berens)
Barbara Ellen Berens, 61, of Silver Springs, Maryland died Monday, October 27, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Nativity where friends may call from 9 to 10:45. Committal services will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The Egelhof, Seigert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Barbara was born September 10, 1953 in Dubuque, daughter of Eugene and Marcella (Saville) Berens. She graduated from Sacred Heart Elementary, Wahlert Catholic High School and Clarke College.
Barbara worked in human resources and as a benefits manager for companies in Des Moines, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and lastly in the Washington D.C. area. She loved cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her brother, Eugene (Barbara Kiely) Berens of Chicago; eight nieces and nephews, Joe (Karen) Weber of Tampa, Florida and their son Talieson; Janet (Kirt) Patters of Dubuque and their son Kole; Joan (Tim) Schueller of Dubuque and their daughters, Rebecca and Catherine; Jeff Weber of Wichita, Kansas; Julie (Junior) Davis of Dubuque and their daughters, Sydney, Nora and Audrey; Jane (friend Kerry Sawyer) Weber of Omaha, Nebraska and her children Johnathan and Grace; and Katherine Berens and Elizabeth Berens, both of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister and her husband Mary Ann and Don Weber.
A Barbara Berens Memorial Fund has been established.
