Obituary for Jeanette L Meyer (Massey)
Jeanette L. Meyer, 87, of Luther Manor, formerly of 3055 Hales Mill Rd., died Friday, August 29, 2014 at Luther Manor. Funeral services will be 11:30 Wednesday, September 3 at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road where friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
Jeanette was born October 23, 1926 in Dubuque, daughter of Joseph and Ernelda (Bobzien) Massey. She married Edward Meyer on May 31,1947 at Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ. He preceded her in death in 1990.
She was a past member of the Asbury Methodist Church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and the Masonic Temple Women Cauldron. Jeanette was devoted to her family her whole life.
She is survived by four children, Sandy (Tom) Cullen, Ed (Mary Jo) Meyer II, Lori (John) Datisman, all of Dubuque and Steve Meyer of Asbury; ten grandchildren, Patrick, Corissa, Jenny, Carla, Mandy, Jessi, Dawn, John, Danielle, and Austin; ten great grandchildren, one brother, Leonard (Sally) Massey of New York and nieces and nephews.
A Jeanette Meyer Memorial Fund has been established.
