Joseph D  Korman
Joseph D. Korman, 76, of Sunnycrest Manor, formerly of 55 Milwaukee St., died Thursday, April 10, 2014. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 – 6 p.m. Sunday and from 11-11:45 a.m., Monday at the funeral home.
Joe was born on December 20, 1937 in Dubuque, the son of Frederick and Mildred (Schloz) Korman.
He married Mary “Jackie” (Bushman) Beecher on February 1, 1964 in Dubuque.
Joe was employed in maintenance at the Dubuque Packing Company and Loras College.
He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local Union 758 and in his later years enjoyed his daily walks in Eagle Point Park.
Surviving are his children, Shelly (Gary) Freiburger, Joseph “Butch” (Sue) Korman Jr., and Cindy (David) Schwendinger, all of Dubuque, Susan (Joe Fecker) Brimeyer, of Andrew, IA.; step- children, Lennie (Terry) Mellows, of Marshalltown, IA., Rick (Julie) Beecher, Gary Beecher, and Diane Beecher, all of Dubuque; 21 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and sisters, Jeanette Lemmer and Sandy (Myron) Cole, of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary “Jackie” Korman; daughter, Cathy Jo Korman; parents; mother-in-law, Mary E. Bushman; step- daughters, Susan E. Smith and Judith A. Beecher; step daughter-in-law, Susan A. Beecher; son-in-law Vince “Butch” Mauer; brother, William F. Korman; sister-in-law, Louise Korman; and brother-in-Law, Ralph Lemmer.
A Joseph Korman memorial fund has been established.
