Condolence From: Ron
Condolence: I wrestled for coach Eitter in the 70's at UW-Oshkosh. I learned so much from Tom and respect him immensely. I'm writing this condolence belatedly as I just learned of his passing recently. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Eitter Family.
Sincerely,
Ron Dworak.

Condolence: Tom and I were colleagues for many years at the University of Dubuque. We bonded when we discovered that we were "brother's boys"--both taught by the Christian brothers in different high schools. We were observers of the cruel disciplinary tactics of the "Christian" brothers and disapproved of them.

As chair of the Promotion and Tenure Committee at UD, I was privileged to read Tom's student evaluations. Over the years, they were the highest I have ever seen at UD! Tom's philosophy of education was that no student left his class without knowing at least 80% of the material. If they did not, they received an incomplete and had to take the course over again until the 80% mark was reached--a true educator.

I can still see him running up-and-down the stairs of the empty gym in order to stay fit!

I will be out-of-town for the service but the family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Condolence From: Tom Barton
Condolence: Warmest regards to Tom's family. Pat, I student taught you in 1989 in Mr. Fields' American Lit class and Morgan, you did my last fire inspection... Chatting with Tom at Signature Gym, I know how proud he is (was) of both you two. Tom and I would talk while working out and he'd often offer up pride in his family. Man, that guy was a warrior. He worked out as hard as anyone to the very end. Happy to have met such an inspirational guy. Again, deepest condolences to the Eitter family.
