Condolences

Condolence From: Dr . James Schlichtmann MD
Condolence: It has been almost a year Dad since we lost you I miss you everyday. I hope you know I love you very much and the hardest thing I have ever done was to be your doctor and take care of you that last year. I am there for Mom and JoAnn whenever they need me...I will never let them down. I will always will do the best I can to be a son you can be proud of. Everytime I work on a car or house you are with me. I can never thank you enough for being such a great Dad and teaching me how to be a man who can hold a wrench, saw, or hammer. I just wish I had known how many things were overlooked by your Dubuque physicians before I got involved and it was too late... If I could turn back time I would come to Dubuque to practice medicine instead of Clarinda, N. English and Iowa City right out of residency and you would be my first patient. But God had other plans for me and so here we are with me missing you everyday. I am not afraid to die, just like you told me you were not the night before your heart by-pass surgery. I know you are watching over us from heaven...please forgive me for my shortcomings since you passed. I promise you I will try to bring your lost son Gary back into the family...because I know deep in my heart that is what you want. Forgive him for what he has done to Mom and for not coming to your service. His disease is affecting his brain and causing dementia. I just don't know if he is salvageable, but I will try. Your loving son, Jim.

Condolence: My deepest condolences to the family on the loss of Walt. Growing up, I recall him always working in the garage or in the basement. Hugs to Eleanor, Jim and Gary, and especially to my dear friend, JoAnne...
