Jerry H. Coble, 75, of Dubuque, gracefully and peacefully passed on Friday, October 19, 2018. Visitation will be from 9 a.m to noon Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road - where there will also be a memorial service to follow.
Jerry was born September 10, 1943 in Highland Center, Iowa, son of Walter and Ruth (Hollingsworth) Coble.
Jerry received his Associate’s Degree from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa. Jerry and his wife Patti were wed on October 26, 1974 at Holy Ghost church in Dubuque, Iowa. He worked for Flexsteel Industries for 47 years, retiring as Manager of Information Systems.
He is survived by his wife, Patti Coble; two sons, Jeff (Nikkia) Coble and Jason Coble; grandchildren, Ellesha, Kaylee, Micayla, Logan and Aiden Coble; Tristen Jones; and Jaxyn, Jasyn and Lillyana Jost.
He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Coble; siblings, Joann (Kenny) Davis, Dick (Margaret) Coble, Dan (Lola) Coble, Susan (Rick) Huseman, and Shelia (Pat) Brehm.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Coble and brothers, Roger and Larry Coble.
Jerry was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed golfing, fishing and an ice cold beer. He was a special, wonderful family man whose greatest joy in life was being a grandfather to his nine grandchildren.
The family would like to request that instead of flowers, donations may be made to the Jerry H. Coble Memorial Fund.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Mayo Clinic, Mercy Hospital, and Hospice of Dubuque for the passionate, loving, and wonderful care given to Jerry.
