Obituary for David Latham

David Dennis Latham, 76, of Bristol, TN, formerly of Dubuque, IA passed away peacefully at home on September 22, 2018 surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, October 6 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church with a memorial services to follow at 1 pm.
David was born August 4, 1942 in Dubuque, son of Dennis and Vada (Pascoe) Latham. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High in 1960, attended the University of Wisconsin Platteville and graduated from Clarke College. He was employed for many years with John Deere, retiring in 2014.
He was a member of two Masonic Lodges, Metropolitan 49 and Dubuque Lodge 125. He was an active member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Dubuque and First United Methodist Church in Bristol.
David was a good friend, always open for a round of golf. He was a devoted husband and father, but his favorite role was being a grandpa.
He is survived by his wife, Leanne, daughters Dawn (Todd) Moorman and Kristeen (Dr. Matthew) Beasey; grandchildren, Luke, Isaac, Hannah, and Sam Beasey; and one sister, Marilyn (Rev. Ron) Blix.
The Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Dubuque.
David was a kind, gentle soul and he will be missed by many. May he rest in peace.
