Judith "Judy" Tigges, 80, of W. Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Dubuque, Iowa died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Heddington Oaks, skilled nursing care facility.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, September 28 at the Church of the Resurrection, Dubuque. A visitation will be from 9-10:45 a.m., Friday at the church, where a short memorial video will be presented at 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road is in charge of the arrangements.
Judy worked at Sweetheart Bakery, Bishop’s Buffet, and Sisters of the Presentation. She was a member of the Resurrection Church Choir and Women’s Guild. She enjoyed making rosary beads for the missionaries and spending time volunteering at The Christ Child Society and The Sisters of Charity Soup Kitchen. Her most treasured accomplishment was creating a weekly rosary group at Heddington Oaks.
Judy was born on November 10, 1937 in Epworth, IA, daughter of Marie Connolly. She married Richard Tigges on September 3, 1960 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dubuque.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, step sister, and friend who was loved by all.
Surviving are her two daughters, Janice (Dan) Christianson, of Dunlap, IL and Jolene (Jimmy) Dolan, of Fort Collins, CO; a son, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Tigges, of Parker, CO; two step brothers, Dudley (Diane) Huber, of Farmerville, LA and Robert (Mary) Huber, of Solon, IA and six grandchildren: Amanda, Rachel, Joshua, Lauren, Jenna and Jessie.
She was preceded in death by her mother and husband.
