Condolence: Mr. Miller (I am 57 and he will forever be Mr. Miller) was a great history teacher with a talent for making history come alive. I appreciated his no nonsense way of running his class. He used to throw erasers at the kids who fell asleep and when the eraser made contact there was a big puff of chalk. Classic Mr. Miller. One time my family was in Florida at Disney World and who did we see? Mr. Miller! He was everywhere. I just want his family to know that he was one of my all time favorite teachers and I am so sorry for your loss.

Condolence: Very saddened to hear of Mr. Miller’s passing. My brothers and I all had Mr. Miller as a teacher and/or coach in the 70s at Jefferson Jr. High. Mr. Miller did not put up with nonsense, and was very passionate about American history and coaching. I offer my family’s sincerest condolences to Mr. Miller’s Family.

Condolence: We are in disbelief at the news my brother-in-law shared with us this morning ... We send our deepest condolences to Sally and the entire family! Art was a best friend throughout high school. Art & Sally began married life in the upstairs apartment of my parent's house. When I'd return on leave and after we were married, our growing family frequently visited yours. More recently we have broken bread together when we visited Dubuque. We never got together on that cruise we talked about. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all ... May our gracious Lord comfort you today and always!

Condolence: Mr Miller was my teacher and coach. He was the most unforgettable coach I had. I saw him a few years ago at work and he remembered me! I am now 51 years old! I told him that my sister and I used to argue who was faster in track. The next day I got to work and I had a voice mail.. it simply said.. you were faster little Allendorf. Thats what he used to call me all through school as I was the youngest of three. What an amazing, caring, FUNNY man he was. He pushed me to be the BEST! I wont forget him.

Condolence: All of the SHIIP staff in Des Moines are deeply saddened by Art's passing. He was so dedicated to SHIIP and his clients. He always gave more so that the Medicare beneficiaries in Dubuque County got the help he needed. This leaves a huge hole in our hearts and in the SHIIP family. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with all the Miller family.

Condolence: I am so very saddened to learn of Art’s passing😢😔. I have so many wonderful memories from teaching at Jefferson Junior high 1971-1976. Art was always telling stories and jokes, and he helped with finding a new apt., Montrose Terrace which had so much character. Several summers ago, I did visit briefly with Art and Sally when I came to Dubuque, and would have loved to come back more often. My deepest sympathy to Sally and the family. RIP Art!
