Obituary for Lucille M Neyens (Frederick)

Lucille M. Neyens, 92, of Hawkeye Health Care Dubuque (Heritage Manor), formerly of Manchester and Earlville, IA, died Monday, August 24, 2015, at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Summit Congregational Church U.C.C. 2885 J.F.K. Rd, Dubuque, IA. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery at a later date.
She was born on November 24, 1922 in Dubuque, daughter of Edward H. and Olga Frederick. She grew up in Dubuque and graduated from Senior High School. She married David M. Neyens on May 12, 1941. He preceded her in death in 2006. Lucille worked for many years as the Assistant Executive Housekeeper at Mercy Hospital, retiring in the 1970’s. Lucille and David moved to Manchester in 1991 and then to Earlville
She was a longtime member of Faith E.U.B. Church, Dubuque; United Parish Church, Earlville; and most recently Summit Congregational Church U.C.C. She was very active in church activities, singing in the choir for over 50 years, and preparing meals for senior citizens for over 16 years. Her favorite past times were fishing, playing Eucher, and gardening.
Surviving are children, Michael (Peggy) Neyens of Winona, MN., Patric (Carole) Neyens of Hayward, WI., Timothy (Connie) Neyens of Dubuque, and Daniel (Katie) Neyens of Bonney Lake, WA.; 10 grandchildren, Christopher, David, Michael Jr. Neyens; Jodi and Eric Neyens; Steven Neyens and Nanci Williams; Jennifer Kropp and Ben Neyens; and Pat Neyens; many great grandchildren; a brother Harvey (Carol) Frederick, Pharr, TX.; sister-in-law Juanita Frederick, Dubuque; sister-in-law Ruth Goesse, Dubuque; and brother-in-law Robert(Ann) Neyens, St. Charles, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother Emilia (Miller) Frederick; her granddaughter Tina Moen; her sister Mae Dausener-Maulson; her brother George (Duke) Frederick.
Memorials may be given to Summit Congregational Church U.C.C. in Dubuque.
