Sister Consuela Wall, OP

SINSINAWA, Wis. -- Sister Consuela Wall, OP, 94, of the Dominican Motherhouse, Sinsinawa, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at the Motherhouse.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Queen of the Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa, with burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery. Friends may call after 5:15 p.m. today at the Motherhouse, where there will be a wake and remembering service at 6:30 p.m. The Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home, Dubuque, is in charge of arrangements.

Sister Consuela spent 37 years in education as an elementary school teacher and principal; five as assistant principal and director of religious education and three as school secretary. She was the administrator of Trinity Convent, River Forest, Ill., for two years then moved to the Motherhouse to volunteer and participated in community life for seven years.

Sister ministered in Iowa, Colorado, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Illinois.

She was born on Jan. 22, 1916, daughter of Josephine Butler and Michael F. Wall. She made her profession on Aug. 5, 1943.

Surviving are nieces; and the Dominican Sisters with whom she shared life for 66 years.
