June D Anderson
June Darlene Anderson, 83, of Sunset Park Place, formerly of 49 Diagonal St., died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 1780 White St., with the Rev. Kathy Wicks officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2659 Kennedy Road, and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
She was born on June 1, 1927, in Dubuque, daughter of Clarence and Mabel (Unmacht) Koeneke. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and cosmetology school.
She married Alan E. Anderson on Nov. 4, 1950, at St. Patrick's Church; he preceded her in death on June 27, 1997.
She was a beautician for many years at the Classic Beauty Shop.
June loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially doing all the cooking for their many family gatherings every year. She also enjoyed sewing, needlework, dancing and playing euchre.
Surviving are her children, Roger (Linda) Anderson, of Milan, Ill., Gary (MaryJo) Anderson and Kathy (Bill) Miller, both of Dubuque, and Diane Anderson, of Reedsburg, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Lindsey) Anderson, Yenae Anderson, Molly Milliken, Nancy and Brianna Anderson, Shaun Kettering and Nicholas Miller; three great-grandchildren, Abby Milliken, Rylee DeClerck and Avery Kettering; her brother, Jim (Helen) Koeneke, of Dubuque.; two sisters, Shirley (Bob) Mills, of Dubuque, and Doris Winninger, of Waterloo, Iowa; a special family friend, Patty Turnmeyer, and card-club friends; and nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
A June Anderson Memorial Fund has been established.
