Rosemary Schockemoehl

Rosemary Schockemoehl, 92, of Ennoble Manor, formerly of 2050 Pasadena Dr. died Monday, July 19, 2010 at Ennoble Manor. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Steve Rosonke officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Worthington. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday at the Siegert - Casper Colonial Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where there will be a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m.
Rosemary was born January 28, 1918 in Worthington, Iowa, daughter of Nicholas and Frances Feltes. She graduated from St. Paul’s High School in Worthington.
She married Louis J. Schockemoehl at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Worthington, Iowa, in 1939. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1976. She worked with her husband in their business, a hardware and implement store in Worthington. She also worked at the Mercy Hospital Gift Shop in Dubuque for about 10 years and worked as a secretary for GS Energy for 15 years.
While in Worthington, she was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. After moving to Dubuque in 1978, she became a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Rosemary is survived by seven children, Alan (Betty) Schockemoehl of Dubuque, Theodore Schockemoehl of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Gary (Cheri) Schockemoehl of Dubuque, Joan (friend Jerry Winard) Suchan of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Mary (Bob) Jasper of Davenport, Iowa, Jane Schockemoehl of Urbandale, Iowa, and Robert (Jane) Schockemoehl of West Des Moines, Iowa; ten grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and a sister in law, Marilyn Feltes of Rock Falls, Ill.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, George, Joe and Nick Feltes and two sisters, Marcella Feltes and Frances Tauke.
A Rosemary Schockemoehl Memorial Fund has been established.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Ennoble Manor and Hospice of Dubuque, as well as Dr. Ries and Dr. Obbink for their wonderful care.
