Geneva R Wright

Geneva R. Wright, 86, of Lake Barrington, Ill., formerly of Dubuque, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington, Ill.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Thomas Young officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to
1:15 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1924, in Lower Buffalo, Ky., daughter of Melvin and Josephine (Brandenberg) Riley. She graduated from Hamilton High School, Hamilton, Ohio, in 1942.
She married William A. Wright, the following year, on Dec. 12. The two resided in Hamilton for 21 years before moving to Dubuque.
She began a life of service as a junior in high school, when she became active with the Hamilton Junior Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dubuque for 57 years and its Women's Association of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Geneva also belonged to the Delta Theta Tau Service Sorority, co-chairman and program director; Hamilton Junior Chamber of Commerce, Victory Bond Queen Committee, selling war bonds during World War II; Dubuque Welcome Wagon volunteer; New Dubuquers Group; Marshall School PTA; Senior Board of the Visiting Nurses Association; past president of the Iowa BX Chapter of TTT and recipient of 50 Year Service Award; past board member of Mount Pleasant Home; Finley Sunshine Circle; past secretary and guard of P.E.O. GE Chapter, Dubuque; and a 50-year member of the Dubuque Golf & Country Club.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, William A. Wright, of Lake Barrington; her children, Kaye Wright Lange, of Long Grove, Ill., and W. Andrew (Elaine) Wright, of Barrington Hills, Ill.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Robert (Catherine) Lange, of Deer Park, Ill., Courtney Elaine (Brian) Panzer, of St. Charles, Ill., and James Andrew (Bethany) Wright, of Barrington Hills, Ill.; eight great-grandchildren, William Jeffrey and Henry Manuel Lange, of Deer Park, Ill., Madeline Catherine, Elise Anne, Ashley Mary and Ryker Andrew Panzer, of St. Charles, Ill., Oscar William and Ingrid Hanna Wright, of Barrington Hills, Ill.; and a sister, Wanda R. (Robert) Harding, of Pittsburgh.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert C. Riley; and a sister, Betty R. (Woody) Woodyard.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society and Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2155 University Ave., Dubuque, IA 52001.
