Daniel J  Stumpf
Daniel J. Stumpf, 70, of Dubuque died Sunday, April 29, 2018 at UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
Private family funeral services will be held. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road is assisting the family. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
Daniel was born on April 11, 1948 in Dubuque, the son of Ralph A. and LaVonne (Hanson) Stumpf.
He married Mary Ellen Aird on January 10, 1970 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Daniel worked at Eagles for over 35 years. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years and loved going to camp with his children!
He loved the outdoors, traveling and camping. He loved to work outside in the yard. He enjoyed building birdfeeders and hanging them in the yard to watch all the different kinds of birds. He talked to all his animal friends and he even had names for them! He was an avid White Sox fan until the end! His grandchildren were his everything and gave him the greatest joy!
Surviving is his wife, Mary Ellen; children, Heather Stumpf of Kansas City, MO, Aaron (Jane) Stumpf of Cuba, MO, Nathan (Amanda Bays) Stumpf, and Jessica (Francisco) Nava, both of Dubuque; grandchildren, Mikayla, Cecilia, Antonio and Gustavo Nava, Cheyenne and Summer Stumpf, Christian, Ethan and Aizik Stumpf, and Sierra Roling; step- grandchildren, Samantha, Mary and Josh Hanson; siblings, Luke (Deb) Stumpf, Kimberly Stumpf, Ron “Woody” (Janet) Stumpf, and Don Stumpf; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim (Barb) Aird, Pat (Dick) Carroll, and Don Aird; many nieces and nephews; and close friends in the surrounding area and especially New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and LaVonne (Hanson) Stumpf; mother and father-in-law, Lorraine and Clem Aird; brothers, Steve and Tim; and sister-in-law, Kathy.
