Friends may call from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Rd. where a parish scripture wake service will be recited at 7:30 PM
Karen was born on April 13, 1958 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Vincent and Rosemary (Pauly) Timpe. She graduated from Wahlert High School the class of 1976. She worked 41 years in the banking industry, most recently at Fidelity Bank and Trust. Karen was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Karen was a volunteer advisor with Junior Achievement in Dubuque for many years.
In her free time, KK enjoyed spoiling her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed baking and loved to share her baked treats with friends and family. Karen enjoyed going on her annual “sister trips” and just recently returned from one of their trips to Atlanta.
Family was very important to KK - she never missed sending greeting cards for special occasions. Most times the cards would include a crisp $2.00 bill which became her trademark!!
KK will always hold a special place in our hearts because of her love for God, her family and her giving spirit. She was the first person to step forward for someone in need.
Surviving are her siblings David (Benita) Timpe of Hartford, SD; Susan Burgmeyer of Dubuque; Ronald (Kathy) Timpe of Cedar Falls, IA; Mary Ann (Jan) Latta of Oklahoma City, OK; Mark (Linda) Timpe of Lincolnton, NC; 14 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. She was Godmother to one nephew and two nieces.
KK's family would like to thank all of her special friends, including Paul, who have shown her love and kindness over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law Michael Burgmeyer.
