Condolence From: Lance Robinson
Condolence: I have sadly just learnt of Fred's passing
In 1991 Fred appointed my company Toy and Hobby Australia to be the Ertl hobby distributor in Australia .It started our company on the international scene and fantastic growth and opportunities. We visited the Dyersville factory on many occasions and enjoyed Fred's hospitality and good business acumen. I remember attending his induction into the toy industry hall of fame.
Fred was a good friend and business man, a personable man of integrity , I enjoyed a number of rounds of golf with him in Australia and Arizona.
I will always remember Fred, he gave me an opportunity and we all won.

Condolence: We were so sad to here of Fred's passing. He was a really great guy and it's nice to know that he is with Nancy now. I cleaned house for the two of them for about 5 years and Duane usually came with me. My best memory of Fred, to show what a wonderful man he was.....when his friends or business associates stopped by occasionally, he would always introduce us....and not as the cleaning people as many people do.....but as his friends. I think that shows a lot about your Dad! He will be missed by many.

Condolence: We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the entire Ertl family on the death of Fred.

What a legacy the Ertl family left for the city of Dyersville! Steve and Linda were both employed by the Ertl Company for many years and greatly appreciated the chance to work for such a fine company.

Thanks to the Ertl family for making the Ertl Company the "John Deere of Dyersville"!

Condolence: Fred was a great man with a very good head on his shoulders. My dream when I was a little girl always looking through the toy catalogs for Christmas that some day I wanted to work in a toy factory. Well that dream came true for me and I started work there in the new plant on August 4 1981 fresh out of high school. I loved it and enjoyed it. My last days there were in May of 1996 when the big layoff occurred and our jobs went to Mexico. I would like to extend my sympathy to all of you on your loss. May Fred rest in the arms of the angels telling all the stories of his life. With love to all

Condolence From: Miriam Eick
Condolence: Sincere sympathy to all the members of The Ertl families. I recall Fred's generosity to my toy project in Dyersville when he would drop by at Christmas with a load of his toys for the children. Out of respect, I addressed him as Mr. Ertl and he would say "Miriam, that was my dad." You are all included in my thoughts and prayers as you walk in the valley of darkness. Fred now sees the great light. Miriam

Condolence: We send our sympathy to you all.

Fred was a very special man to many. We just got to know him over the last few years through Vid and Becky. He and Nancy both made us feel so welcome and we really enjoyed the time we spent with them.

We are so glad we got to see him again this past February down in Arizona.

May he Rest In Peace!
