Della Nettie Louise Hoerner, 92, died Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Bethany Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 30 at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Rd, with the Rev. Steven Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Zwingle, Iowa. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 29 and from 10-10:45 a.m., Wednesday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Rd.
Della was born on June 24, 1925 in Dubuque County, the daughter of Conrad W. and Mary M. (Timmerman) Blosch.
She married Eldon M. Hoerner in 1946, he preceded her in death on October 3, 1982. In 1985 she married Verle “Buck” Leathers, he preceded her in death in 1998.
She worked at the Epworth Locker Plant and assisted her husband alongside the family farm.
Della was a member of Center Grove United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, country music and dancing. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Gail (Alice) Hoerner, of Dubuque, Marvin (Carolyn) Hoerner, of Epworth, Donna Schmitt (special friend, Steve Brandel), of Dubuque, Cheryl (Jerry) Gotto, of Delhi, IA., and Artice (John) Kudalis, of Rockford, IL; 13 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; 6 great- great- grandchildren; 2 step- grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Poulsen, of Spencer, IA; brothers, Carmen (Anna Mae) Blosch, of Cuba City, WI. and Carvel Blosch, of Dubuque.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Twila Hoerner; and sister, Dorothy Bradley.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque or the Alzheimer’s Association.
