Linda Lou Schaetzle, 63, of Asbury died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at home. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 pm Wednesday at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road where there will be a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Resurrection. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Linda was born January 12, 1954 in Dubuque, Daughter of Donald and Sylvia (Boge) Westhoff. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. On October 15, 1977, she married James Schaetzle at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dubuque.
Linda worked at A.Y. McDonald Mfg. for 15 years. Family was important to her and she loved organizing family functions. She also enjoyed decorating cakes, cooking, gardening, spending time with family at Lake Delhi, spending time with her dog, Zach and sitting on the porch watching thunderstorms.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Schaetzle of Asbury; children, Brian (Tiphanie) Schaetzle and Katie Schaetzle, both of Dubuque; 4 grandchildren, Isaiah, Josiah, Caleb and Collin); siblings, Judy (Dave) Diefenthaler of Madison, Wisc. and Carol Westhoff, Ron (Pat) Westhoff, Jim (Nancy) Westhoff, Kathy (Jerry) Fennel and Tom (Tammy) Westhoff, all of Dubuque and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, a Linda Schaetzle Memorial Fund has been established.
