Obituary for Shepard Joseph Hamann

Shepard Joseph Hamann, one-year-old son of Luke and Dana (Figlock) Hamann, died suddenly on Saturday, June 24, 2017.

A visitation for Shep will be held on Friday, June 30 from 9-11am at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Dubuque followed by funeral mass at 11am.

Shep was born in Dubuque on January 26, 2016 and was immediately loved by his parents and big brother, Evan. Shep exuded happiness, particularly when cuddling with his mother or playing with his father. Shep’s blue eyes and easy smile were bright and irresistible. He laughed joyously when chased or embraced by his brother. Shep was like sunshine to his loving family. His warmth and light will be deeply missed.

Memories of Shep will be cherished by his parents, Luke and Dana Hamann; brother Evan; paternal grandmother, Connie Hamann, of Peoria, IL; maternal grandparents, Carol Berch, of Dubuque, and Robert Figlock, of Altmar, NY; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends. Shep was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Edward Hamann.

Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Dubuque Montessori School at 2605 Pennsylvania Avenue, Dubuque, Iowa 52001.
