Obituary for Donald C Wood
Donald C. Wood, 69, of Dubuque died Friday, May 19, 2017. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm Monday at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road where there will be sharing of memories at 7 pm.
Donald was born June 10, 1947 in Honolulu, HI, son of Charles and Vivian (Vogel) Wood. He received degrees from University of Northern Iowa and Clarke College. On July 6, 1974, he married Mary Kay Burd in Dubuque.
Prior to his retirement in 2009, Donald worked as an accountant, most recently at AY McDonald Manufacturing. He was a very kind person; a truly loving husband, father and grandfather.
Donald had a passion for restoring old cars, especially classic Mustangs, woodworking and working in his Hosta garden.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Wood of Dubuque; children, Steven (Kelly) Wood of Salt Lake City, Brian (Kelly) Wood of Coralville, and Nicole (Troy) Smith of North Liberty; grandchildren, Farren, Olivia and Ethan Wood; Deegan and Kylin Wood; and Owen Smith.
He is also survived by his brother, Alfred Wood of Waterloo; and nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
