Scott “Scooter” David Hammel, 40, of Dubuque Iowa passed away Sunday April 16th, 2017.
Scott was born May 11th, 1976, in Dubuque, the son of David and Kathryn Hammel. Scott attended Dubuque schools and graduated from Dubuque Senior in 1995. Scott worked various construction jobs, most recently for Downs Home Improvement. As a lifelong resident of Dubuque, Scott had a wide circle of close friends and family that he loved spending time with. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, hiking and being with his friends. Known for his generous big hugs, goofiness, kind heart & gentle soul – Scott will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Loved by many, Scott was the friend you knew you could always count on.
Scott is survived by his parents, Dave and Kathy Hammel; his brother Chris (Aimee) and nephews Colin and Ryan of Clinton, IA. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins and many many close friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Helen Morey & Clem and Esther Hammel.
