Mary L. Ruroden, 94, of Galena Stauss Senior Care, formerly of Dubuque, Iowa died Saturday, April 15, 2017.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 18 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, where a visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in East Clermont Lutheran Cemetery, Clermont, Iowa. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road is in charge of the arrangements.
Mary was born on January 4, 1923 in Gregory’s Landing, Missouri. She grew up in Alexandria, Missouri. During WWII Mary was a driver for the Ordnance Plant in Burlington, Iowa. In 1950 she moved to Dubuque where she was employed at Kroger’s. When Kroger’s closed she worked at Kraft Foods.
She married Leslie L. Ruroden on January 12, 1966 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1999.
Mary was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her nieces, Emma Bussan, Nadine Barrows, Gail (Dick) Meyers and Marilyn (Rod) Cooper; and nephews, Ryland (Sheri) Eddleman, Neil (LaDonna) Hand, and Steve (Nancy) Hand, and Kevin Hull.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doris Lee; 3 brothers, James, Robert and Kenneth Hand; and her faithful companions, Chico and Annie.
Memorials may be given to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
