Obituary for Betty Fox (Hollandsworth)
Betty J. Fox, 90 of Oak Park Place, died Friday, March 17, 2017 at Unity – Point Health, Finley Hospital.
Betty has donated her body to the University of Iowa for medical research. Memorial services will be held at a later day at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road is assisting the family.
Betty was born on July 30, 1926 in Peoria, Illinois the daughter of Reed and Viola (Holler) Hollandsworth. She married John T. Fox on February 12, 1949 in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her death in November 2008.
Betty was a librarian at various libraries in Peoria, Davenport, and Dubuque. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her children, Linda (Harold) Hermes, of Evanston, IL, and their children, Kate Hermes and Nickolas Hermes and James (Cathy) Fox, and their daughter, Elizabeth (Ryan) Ahlers; and one great- granddaughter, River Ahlers.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
