Obituary for Jason Ehlers

Jason Ehlers
Jason M. Ehlers, 34, of Dubuque died Saturday, February 25, 2017. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Thursday at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road where a service of remembrance will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Jason was born September 14, 1982 in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Charles and Ellen (Jurisic) Ehlers. He was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High and NICC.
Jason worked at Houlihan’s for 10 years, and most recently was employed at John Deere Dubuque Works. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Hawkeyes, Cubs and 49ers. He excelled in sports such as softball, wrestling, and football. Jason enjoyed going target shooting with his Dad. He was also a fitness fanatic. He loved going on hikes and walks with his dog, Sky. "Uncle Jason" loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. Jason was a true, loyal friend to many, and his friendships will never be forgotten, but rather cherished for eternity.
He is survived by his father, Charles Ehlers; his step-mother, Irene Ehlers of Dubuque; and girlfriend Mallory Macciomei, all of Dubuque; siblings Jamie (RaeAnn) Ehlers of Epworth and Jennifer Ehlers, Brandy (Timothy) Ruden and Stacey (fiancé Creighton Cooper) Ehlers, all of Dubuque; nieces and nephews, Lyric, Lucy and Zander Ehlers, Rylie and Noah Ruden and Asher Ehlers; aunts and uncles, John, Dave (Margaret), and Terry Ehlers, Betty (Robert) Schroeder, Ronald (Dori) Cutter, Jeanne (Kenny) O’Meara, Shirley (Terry) Oltmanns, and Marlene Larson; and many cousins, especially Mike Oltmanns, who was like a brother to him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Ehlers; aunts and uncles, Mary Ann (Ernie) Fiedler, Lloyd (Grace) Ehlers, and Joey and Jim Jurisic; and his grandparents, John and Lorraine Ehlers and Marion Hefel.
