Helen B. Hedrick, 83, of Dubuque died Monday, January 16, 2017 at Manor Care Center. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 pm Friday at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road where there will be a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Spirit Parish-Holy Ghost Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Helen was born August 28, 1933 in Dubuque, daughter of Robert and Ella (Thompson) Waller. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High in 1951. On September 17, 1955, she married Frank Hedrick. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2004.
Helen was a member of Holy Spirit Parish-Holy Ghost Church. She enjoyed playing euchre, gardening and working at the family stand at Farmer’s Market.
She is survived by three children, Connie (Byrne) Chapman of Madison, Wisc., Linda (Rick) Caspersen of Dubuque and Tim (Alysia) Hedrick of Dubuque; four grandchildren, Chad (Leisha) Chapman, Casey Hedrick, Kelsey Caspersen and Colton Hedrick; and two great grandchildren, Jamie and Jackson Chapman. She is also survived by two sisters, Lois Ronek and Joyce Cartmill; two brothers, Ralph (Donna) Cummings and Kenneth Cummings; and a sister in law, Kay Waller.
She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Lorraine Ronek and Geraldine Steil; a brother, Don Waller; and brothers in law, Jim Cartmill, Charlie Ronek, Justin Ronek and John Steil.
In lieu of flowers, a Helen Hedrick Memorial Fund has been established.
