Mildred “Millie” C. O’Toole, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Luther Manor.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Resurrection Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road, where a wake service will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Millie was born on March 12, 1926, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Carl and Mary (Schaul) Weber. She attended Immaculate Conception Academy Class of 1944. She married Kenneth L. Manahl on June 23, 1943, and together they had two children. Kenneth preceded her in death on July 11, 1945. On February 15, 1947, Millie married Thomas M. O’Toole and they had four children. Thomas preceded her in death on April 1, 1992.

With Millie’s unique gift of socialization, she enjoyed and entertained many while bowling, playing euchre and visiting with her many friends and family. She often visited hospitals and nursing homes to cheer up her friends. Millie and Tom spent many years wintering in Phoenix, AZ. Millie belonged to Resurrection Parish and was a life long member of the American Legion and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a devoted and loving wife, a mother who loved her children unconditionally and a “fun and crazy” grandmother adored by her grandchildren.

Surviving are five of her six children; 20 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren. The late Dennis (Peggy) Manahal’s children, Leo Manahl, Michael Manahl, Barbara (Mike) Gustafson and Dennis Jr. (Heidi) Manahl; Kenneth (Kathy) Manahl of Mesa, AZ and their children, David (Jocelyn) Manahl, Andy Manahl, and Mark Manahl; Penny (Jim) Ehlinger of Dubuque and their children, Curt Ehlinger, Tim (Shelly) Ehlinger, Sarah (Craig Gooder) Ehlinger and Josh (Mary) Ehlinger; Michelle (Tom) Vogel of Peoria, AZ and daughter Jennifer (Bob) Heim; T.J. (Pam Moriarity) O’Toole of Bellevue and children, Brian (Susan) Galle, Heather (Tim) Maiers and T.J. (Fran) O’Toole; and Kelli (Don Brancato) O’Toole of Seattle, WA and children, Jeff (Kelly) Cappellini, Alex Cappellini, Nick Capellini, and Ian and Tessa Mackiewicz. Also surviving are her former daughter-in-law, Ruth Daly of Dubuque; her brother Jim (Rita) Weber of Prescott, AZ and her sisters, Jane Gibler of Soulsbyville, CA and Jean Penrod of New Hall, CA.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Peggy Manahl; and her siblings, Dorothy Burgess, Merlin Weber and Milo Weber.
