Joyce R  Kirk (Kingsley)
Joyce R. Kirk, 86, of Dubuque died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Stonehill Care Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Nativity Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 – 7 p.m., Monday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Rd, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Joyce was born on June 26, 1930 and raised in Dubuque. She graduated from the Visitation Academy in 1948. She married Gordon L. Kirk on August 18, 1951 at Nativity Church.
Joyce was a member of Nativity Church where she worked for many years and volunteered in the parish office. She also worked in the Guidance Office at Wahlert High School. She was a member of Nativity Parish Rosary Society and the Power of Prayer. Joyce was an avid golfer at Lacoma Golf Club. She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, board games, and doing crossword puzzles.
Family and faith were her foundation. She cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends.
Surviving are her two sons, Jim (Chris) Kirk of LaCrosse, WI, and John (Christy) Kirk of Dubuque; two daughters, Judy (Chris) Gantenbein, of Dubuque and Kathy (Bob) Kieffer, of St. Louis, MO; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Steve) Radloff, Elizabeth Kirk, Andrea Kirk, Abby (Marty) Kluesner, Jacob (Angie) Gantenbein, Nicholas Kirk (Anna), Sarah (Matthew) Breitbach; and seven great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Kingsley Kirk, Livia and Emelyn Radloff, Benjamin, Ryan, Colin, and Olivia Kluesner.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin; husband, Gordon; and parents, Lucille and A.R. “Spike” Kingsley.
