Obituary for Sr. Solano Breuer (Breuer)

Sister Solano Breuer, OSF of Clare House, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Clare House. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 with Funeral Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. in Francis Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m, Thursday, December 1, 2016 in Francis Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Sister was born on January 14, 1918 at Glen Haven, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Anna Margaret (Mumm) Breuer.

She entered the Sisters of St. Francis September 6, 1941 and made final profession of vows August 10, 1947. Sister served as a homemaker and nurse’s aide in Dubuque at Mary of the Angels, St. Francis Home, and Stonehill Franciscan Services.

Sister is survived by her sister, Anne Wagner; sisters-in- law Agatha Breuer, and Dorothy Breuer, her nieces and nephews; and her Franciscan sisters with whom she shared 74 years of her life.

Sister was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Leo (Laura) Breuer, Roland (Agnes; Leotha) Breuer, Alphonse (Esther) Breuer, Fred Breuer, Leonard Breuer; a sister Pauline (Ray) Crubel and brother-in- law Anthony Wagner.

Memorials may be given to the Sisters of St. Francis, Dubuque, IA.
