Obituary for Robin R Deutmeyer (Deutmeyer)

Robin R Deutmeyer (Deutmeyer)
During the early morning hours of July 20th, 2016 Robin Renee Deutmeyer passed away while surrounded by her family at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, IA. Robin was 31 years old.

Robin was fiercely loyal to her friends and family. She loved deeply and completely often without boundaries. She had many friends that turned to her for help and comfort and tried to be there for all of them.

Robin found great joy in animals. She loved and cherished her dog Rozey for 15 years. For the past several years she found great joy in her guinea pig Norman. Robin cared for her pets as if they were her children. Everyone who knew her understood that she expected us all to treat them as if they were her children!

Robin had a fascination with fairies. She loved to look at artwork and draw fairies. She had many “fairy-like” qualities and she would inform us that some fairies could be good and some could be evil :). She loved nature and reminded many people of a little woodland fairy. She even had random rabbits and other critters come up to her at times! Robin spend many hours listening to her music while enjoying the outdoors and the animals.

Robin had a childlike aura about her that drew children to her. She loved to get down on the floor and play with them, draw with them, give them different trinkets, and just be with them. She had a special and unique bond and care for her nieces and nephews. Robin loved being an aunt so much that her Facebook profile name was followed by the words “Auntie Rah Rah” the name that Hannah, Caleb, and Isaac called her by. When she saw pictures of her newborn twin nieces Lydia and Leah she responded simply, “Beautiful.”

Robin was preceded in death by her grandfather Everett W. Shepherd and her beloved Boston Terrier Rozey (Rozitta Maria).

Robin is survived by her parents Kim and Charlie Stanton and Darrell and Kelley Deutmeyer. Her siblings Chad Deutmeyer, Greg (Christy) Deutmeyer, Kari Stanton, Taylor Hillery, and Carson Hillery. Her grandparents Hubert and Rosemary Brimeyer and Duane and Shirley Deutmeyer. Her cherished nieces and nephews Hannah, Caleb, Isaac, Lydia, and Leah Deutmeyer. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special family member Mike Richardson of Oklahoma City, OK.

Robin is also survived by her precious guinea pig, Norman. Who will be cared for by Robin’s mom.

Funeral services will be held at Hope Church, 11893 JFK Rd, Dubuque, IA. Monday July 25th, 2016. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with a church service following at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, a Robin Deutmeyer memorial fund has been established.
