Obituary for Mary Pauly (Whitfield)

Mary L. Pauly, 71, of Peosta, died Saturday, April 23, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peosta. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangments.
Mary was born November 29, 1944 in Dubuque, daughter of James and Margaret (DeFontaine) Whitfield. She graduated from Wahlert High School in 1962. On April 26, 1965 she married Milton Pauly at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Mary worked at Hempsted High School for 34 years before her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved animals.
Mary’s faith was important to her and she was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Milton Pauly of Peosta; two daughters, Kelli Biedenbach of Elgin, Ill., and Krista (Joseph) Lau of Amboy, Wash.; and two grandchildren, Cassidy and Cole Biedenbach.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Linda Kueter.
The family requests no flowers; memorials will be used for ovarian cancer research.
