Obituary for John R Goedken
John R. Goedken, 81, of Dubuque, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospital.
John was born July 24, 1934 in Peosta, Iowa the son of Ludwig and Reinelda(Lehman) Goedken.
John served in the US Air Force, came home safely and eventually settled in Dubuque to later marry Edith in 1963. After 30 years with John Deere, he enjoyed his retirement and spending time with his children: Dean, Mark, Roger, Brian, Mary and Paul; He is also survived by his siblings, Frances, Richard and Janaan(Vogt) and was preceded by Duane, Dolores, Melvin, Vernon and Herbert.
Friends may call from 3:30-7:30 p.m., Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 JFK Rd. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday where Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion, Post 6.
