Obituary for Robert I Galleberg

Robert Irving Galleberg, 95, died peacefully Saturday, December 26, 2015, at home in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, with family and caregivers he loved. Private family services will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, Iowa. The Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Bob was born August 31, 1920, to Peder and Sigrid Galleberg in Duluth, Minnesota. He graduated from Duluth’s Denfeld High School. Bob enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II, serving in Washington, DC. In the early post-War years he served with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (where he met his future wife, Kathleen) and earned a bachelor’s degree in business at the University of Minnesota. Bob spent 36 rewarding years employed at The Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, in product planning and purchasing. Bob possessed a zest for life, always with projects at hand, but truly reveled in his roles as husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Kathleen (Spahn) and their infant daughter Mary Anne, as well as his brother and sister, Paul and Joan.
He is survived by his sons Gary (Kristen) Galleberg of St. Louis, Missouri, and Paul (Karen) Galleberg of Palos Verdes Estates, California, and granddaughters Krista, Nicole and Laura Galleberg.
