CClara Collins Noonan, 94 of Dubuque died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Luther Manor, surrounded by family. Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon on Friday, July 3, 2015 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Visitation will be at the church on Friday July 3, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Clara was born August 8, 1920 in Cedar Rapids and raised in Ossian, daughter of William and Clara (Walch) Collins. She graduated from St. Frances de Sales High School in Ossian and Gates Business College in Waterloo, Iowa.
On December 26, 1964 she married Dorrance Noonan. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Clara had a 32 year career in Federal Government services; working in Kansas City, Mo., Denver, Colo., San Antonio, Tex., the Railroad Retirement Board in Chicago, Ill., Veterans Administration office in Dubuque and the Coast Guard Marine Inspection office in Dubuque, retiring in 1976.
She is survived by nephews, Jim (Vicki) Collins of Dubuque, Steve (Bonnie) Collins of Dubuque, Bill (Jodi Bryson) Collins of Dubuque and Joe (Cheryl) Collins of Littleton, Colo.; nieces, Jean (Tom) Fondell of Dubuque, Candace (Bjorn Andren) Knapp of Bandon, Fla., Patricia Knapp of Toledo, Ohio, and Jane (Frank) Noonan Lange of Dubuque. She is also survived by several great and great-great nieces and nephews who brought her much joy.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Frances Knapp; three brothers, Joseph, William and Mark Collins; a sister in law, Mary K. Collins and a brother in law, Claire Knapp.
