Willis  O' Malley
Willis "Bill" F. O'Malley, 86, of Dubuque, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Church of the Nativity. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 12-1:15 p.m., Saturday at the Church. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JKF Road is in charge of the arrangements.
Bill was born on May 31, 1929 in Dubuque, the son of Francis and Marie (Kingsley) O'Malley.
He married Elizabeth "Betty" Kowalsky on July 18, 1953 at Holy Name Church, Racine, Wis. Together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, after meeting on a blind date. Elizabeth preceded him in death on November 24, 2013.
Bill was employed as a logistical engineer at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids.
He served in the Army National Guard at Ft. Riley, Kansas.
He was a talented artist and created many beautiful oil paintings. He enjoyed camping, fishing and boating with his family at Apple Canyon Lake. He collected stamps and was a member of the Tri-State Stamp Club. He was also a longtime member of Nativity Catholic Church.
Bill was proud of his Irish Heritage and celebrated St. Patrick's Day every year.
Surviving are his children, Colleen Tressel, Patrick (Karen) O'Malley, both of Dubuque, Cathy (Dan) Lenz and Sean (Linda) O'Malley, both of Bernard; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian, Christa, Amy, Matt, Sarah, Nicole, Doug, Lisa, Lindsay, Luke and Megan; 15 great- grandchildren; sister, Carol (Joe) McGowan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom (Ruth) O'Malley; sister, Bev (Elmer) Kaminski; nephew, Mike O'Malley; and in-laws, Bob (Grace) Kowalsky.

Bill's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mark Moore and Dr. Thomas Johnson at Medical Associates and to the cardiovascular doctors, nurses, and staff at the University of Iowa Hospital for their exceptional care and support.
