Hassina A. Yakub, 82, of Dubuque died Monday, December 29, 2014 at home. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 3, at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday and 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory.
Hassina was born July 1, 1932 in Bartelle, Iraq, daughter of Abdel-Ahad and Amina Yakub. She married Father Rev. Behnam Isaac in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She is survived by five children, Elizabeth (Najib) Massode of Dubuque, Dr. George B. (Ebtisam "Suzie") Isaac of Dubuque, Ashak (Fadwa) Al Bazboz of Dubuque, Tiyodor (Swasam) Behnam Kass Behnam of Chicago, and Simon Isaac of Dubuque; 11 grandchildren, Rose (Elli), Raya, Rahaf, Christine, Benjamin, Heba, Behnam, Christy, Jessica, Sabrina and Izabella; one great granddaughter, Noelle; two sisters, Khatoon Yakub of Syria and Majeeda Yakub of Iraq.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, a son Bassem and a brother Sa-eed Yakub.
