Obituary for Virginia M Jennings (Mootz)

Virginia Mary Jennings, 86 of Ennoble Manor, died Monday, August 26, 2013 at Ennoble Manor. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Church of The Nativity with the Rev. Scott Bullock officiating. The Nativity Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Rd. where a parish scripture wake service will be held at 6:45 p.m.

Virginia was born on August 27, 1926 in Portage, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Muriel (Dey) Mootz. She has resided in Dubuque since the age of 5 and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. On August 19, 1944, Virginia married Noel J. Jennings in Tacoma, Washington. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2005. Virginia was a long time member of Nativity Parish and worked in the cafeteria at the Finley Hospital for many years. She was an avid Cub fan and enjoyed reading, embroidering and working puzzles.

Surviving are her four children, Robert L. (Susan) Jennings of Hubert, N.C.; Noelle (Larry Stevenson) Jennings of Dubuque, IA; David (Genevieve) Jennings of Cedar Rapids, IA and Kristan Jennings of Dubuque, IA; 8 grandchildren, Robert (Angel) Jennings, T.J. Jennings, Jessica (Steve) Riggles, Chris (Bethany) Blankenship, Sam Jennings, Patrick Jennings, Matthew (Anezka) Lungwitz and Elizabeth Lungwitz; 7 great grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Patricia Mootz of East Dubuque, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Noel, four brothers, Robert, George, John and James Mootz.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque.
