Audrey L. Yarnall, 87, of Dubuque, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 surrounded by her family.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 25, at Nativity Catholic Church, with the Rev. Scott Bullock officiating. The rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Church by the rosary society. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-9p.m., Wednesday at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road.
Audrey was born on December 30, 1925, in Dubuque, the daughter of Albert “Merrill” and Myrtle (Theilen) Chapman.
Family and faith were extremely important and she incorporated her religion in her every day life.
She excelled at cooking and especially enjoyed preparing meals for others.
Audrey worked hard all of her life. She founded the restaurant, The Pied Piper located in Dubuque and Manchester, Iowa and devoted her time to being a caregiver, spending countless hours taking care of others.
She was a long time member of the Power of Prayer group.
Surviving are her children, William (Kathy) Yarnall, of California; Linda M. Luedtke, of Dubuque, and Beth (Kelly) Rupp, of Louisiana; grandchildren, Sarah (Brian) Alvord, Jennifer Luedtke, Jessica (Glenn) Wentz, John Luedtke, Steven (Crystal) Yarnall, Rachel (Justin) Lindenberg, Scott (Carla) Rupp, Katherine (Matt) Howerton, and Kristin (Matt) Lacy; 14 great- grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph (Dorothy) Chapman, of Dubuque.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Yarnall; husband, William Yarnall; parents; son-in-law, Bernard “Bern” Luedtke; and siblings, Betty Evans, Jennette Mills, Richard Chapman, and Gene Chapman.
